Shelter From the Storm
Hand dyed and handwoven by Nicki Rathert
Shelter From the Storm was very special project. It was a rare full-custom piece, and all the proceeds from the custom piece went to support the work of T1International, an organization dedicated to advocating for people with Type 1 diabetes around the world.
The hand-dyed Supima cotton warp was inspired by the idea of finding a safe place in the storms of life. The deep colors represent dark and stormy forests, and the pops of yellows and orange represent a glimpse of a cozy fire peeking through a window in a safe shelter.
