It's the brilliant feathers of the birds, hiding in the rainforest. It's the colors of the sky just before the sun disappears over the horizon. It's the fleeting glimpse of the butterfly before it flits away. It's the rainbow you wish would not fade. If only we could bottle the beauty all around us, and bring it out when we are feeling low. If we could somehow capture the brightest parts of nature, I would be tempted to do so. But I think, perhaps, that the rainbows, the sunsets, and the brilliant birds are much more lovely for their freedom. They fill us with joy precisely because we cannot call to them, demand that they appear, or keep them for our own. They come and go at unexpected times, and that is part of what makes them beautiful. So, go into nature. Explore and take in the wonder around you. Marvel at the way the colors play with each other. And then leave that place, just as you found it.
"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice." - Stephen King
